What is it?
This course allows students to develop the confidence to cook meals at home. Students will plan meals and will be encouraged to inspire others by sharing their knowledge
What will I be doing?
This is a very practical course involving lots of cooking. You will learn new skills in the kitchen and also find out about healthy eating.
Skills and Knowledge Learned
Practical cooking skills; some Maths skills (weighing, measuring and time); planning; recipe reading, selecting and preparing fresh ingredients and using kitchen equipment.
Who is the course suitable for?
Students who have an interest in preparing their own meals at home by selecting and preparing fresh ingredients to make different healthy dishes.
Qualification:
Pearsons BTEC Level 1 qualification.
