Introduction to Hair and Beauty
What is it?
Learners will have the opportunity to acquire skills, knowledge and understanding of the Hair and Beauty Industry through the practical activities.
Learners will be able to develop their communication skills and their employability skills in areas such as time management and teamwork.
What will I be doing?
Throughout the course, students undergo training in hair care, nail care and design, client care and preparation and health and safety. The units also cover personal presentation, shampoo and conditioning, nail art, hair plaiting and the use of colour in the hair and beauty industry.
Skills and Knowledge Learned
This vocational subject incorporates manual and technical skills
required in the hair and nail care industry. In addition to this students will also develop their employability skills in this area such as time management and team work.
Who is the course suitable for?
Students who are enthusiastic and committed and are able to follow a range of instructions.
