Employability
Curriculum Area Overview
Employability provides young people with the knowledge and skills they need to self-manage their learning and to make informed choices. Effective employability education is impartial and considers young people's personal abilities, needs and preferences. It is motivating and it raises aspirations — by providing clear goals and by encouraging young people to participate in learning and to attain qualifications that reflect their potential.
We have a whole-college approach to providing young people with the support they need. Teaching across the curriculum does help young people to make links between their learning and the opportunities afforded by progression in a subject. Modules include work experience, applying for a job and enterprise.
